SUARA GARUT – Deputy regent (wabup) of Garut Regency, Helmi Budiman emphasized that developed countries must have perfect and plenary indicators, which reflect prosperity and equality.
“The income is the highest, how many have higher per capita income, developed countries have an average per capita income when they are called developed countries, so their per capita income must be more than 150 million per year,” he said.
However, Helmi noted that currently Indonesia’s per capita income is at 70 million, West Java is 40 million, and Garut is still at 24 million per capita per year.
The Wabup also accelerated that there is still inequality in income distribution, which is reflected in the gini ratio.

“There is still a gini ratio, the gini ratio is 0.31 and that means there is still an inequality of 0.31. So if we look at the size of a prosperous country, the size of a developed country, 2045 will be our size,” he said.
This was conveyed by Deputy Regent of Garut, dr. Helmi Budiman, attending the 12th Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Kadungora Branch Conference. The event took place at the Muhammadiyah Education Complex Branch Cikembulan Kadungora Corner, Kadungora District, Garut Regency, Sunday (27/08/2023)
On this occasion, Helmi Budiman expressed his views on the theme raised at the Branch Conference, namely “Advancing Kadungora and Brightening the Universe”.
