GIANYAR – Arema FC finally broke the winning egg on the 2023/2024 League 1 stage. The team nicknamed Singo Edan won its first win when they hosted Persikabo Bogor in Week 10.

After the match, Arema FC coach, Fernando Valente, said that this victory was deserved by his team because he had played pretty well throughout the match. In fact, several times his team recorded opportunities, even though they only managed to score one goal.
“We controlled this match, we scored a very good goal, a very beautiful goal. And also we have many opportunities to be able to score again, and we can control the opponent, in the end making the opponent not have many opportunities to get opportunities,” said Fernando Valente, Monday (28/8/2023).
The father of the Persebaya Surabaya captain, Ze Valente, also appreciated the change in the players. The reason is, before the match, some of the players faced several problems, including the absence of Gustavo Almeida due to injury, and Achmad Maulana Syarif who was allowed to leave the team because his parents died.
“We have shown this team that all players are important. This is the start. We will continue to learn for the next match. Hopefully it will be even more consistent, and we know how to solve problems in a match,” hoped the Portuguese tactician.
Furthermore, he said that the success of transferring his ideas to the players was the key to changing the team. Especially since he came it was not easy to do.
“In this situation I’m very happy, for me it’s my debut and it’s very important for me. When we transfer all new ideas, so at this moment to win it will be easier to implement the ideas,” explained the 64-year-old coach.
