HANOI – Vietnam Pandit, BLV Quang Huy said that the U-23 Thai national team would win easily over the U-23 Indonesian national team in the semifinals of the 2023 AFF U-23 Cup, Thursday (24/8/2023). According to him, Garuda Muda qualified for the semifinals with the best runner-up status, so he was not the favorite to advance to the final.
“I think Thailand will win. Indonesia enters with the best second-place team ticket. Thailand can win with 2 goals through an extraordinary game,” said BLV Quang Huy, as quoted from Soha on Thursday (24/8/2023).
Thailand U-23 advanced to the semifinals of the 2023 AFF U-23 Cup with the status of winning Group A. The Young War Elephants performed well by scoring 8 goals and were undefeated in the group phase.
Unlike the U-23 Thailand, the U-23 Indonesian national team reached the semifinals of the U-23 AFF Cup with the best runner-up status. The reason is, Garuda Muda only got one win and one defeat in the group phase.
However, BLV Quang Huy has a different view of the Vietnam U-23 match against Malaysia U-23. According to him, the two teams will compete tightly, so that the penalty round will determine a place in the final round.
“It is likely that the two teams will draw in 90 minutes of normal time, even extra time and then a penalty shootout,” predicted BLV Quang Huy.
Even though the U-23 Indonesian National Team is underestimated by BLV Quang Huy. However, Garuda Muda won the AFF U-23 Cup in 2019 after winning 2-1 over Thailand in the final.
