JAKARTA – The search for aliens has been a topic of conversation for decades, but until now their whereabouts are still a mystery.
The latest news, a sophisticated algorithm engine managed to detect eight radio signals originating from five stars that are 30 to 90 light years away.
Quoted from Popular Mechanics, Thursday (24/8/2023), University of Toronto scientists say they have simplified the search for extraterrestrial life using a new algorithm.
Using a special analyzer engine, this algorithm eliminates radar interference emitted by the human body’s electromagnetic energy. This allows scientists to focus on signals from outer space and then find patterns in that information.
“We need to distinguish between interesting radio signals in space and unattractive radio signals from Earth,” said Peter Ma, lead author of a scientific article published in Nature Astronomy.
Of course, even though the radio waves resemble signals from extraterrestrials, scientists hope to see the same signals again for further analysis. They are getting more and more focused using new algorithms embedded in larger-capacity telescopes.
With the help of artificial intelligence, Cherry Ng, a researcher at the Dunlap Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics in Toronto, is optimistic that it will be possible to quantify the possibility of alien existence. “There are signals from other civilizations,” he said.
Is it true that aliens exist in the solar system?
Dr Michelle Thaller, a scientist at the US-based Goddard Space Flight Center put forward a theory about extraterrestrial life on the planet Venus. A place completely unfriendly to humans.
