BRICS Expansion: China, Russia, South Africa Interested; Brazil and India Want to Wait

This year’s summit of the BRICS countries took place differently. Russian President Vladimir Putin was present virtually, while leaders of non-member countries were physically present in the South African capital, including Indonesian President Joko Widodo. The meeting was also colored by the pros and cons regarding the expansion of members.
