JAKARTA – The prestigious world-class basketball competition, the FIBA World Cup, will now come with the 19th tournament named FIBA World Cup 2023. This competition will be participated in by 32 countries that are members of the International Basketball Federation or FIBA.
FIBA World Cup 2023 will start its matches from 25 August to 10 September 2023. For the first time, this tournament will be held in three countries at once, where Indonesia is one of the hosts, along with two other countries namely Japan and the Philippines.
In Indonesia, the 2023 FIBA World Cup will be held at the Indonesia Arena, which is located at the Bung Karno Sports Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta. This arena has a capacity of 16,088 spectators and was specifically built for this basketball championship event.
The tournament will be played in three stages. In the first stage, 32 teams were divided into eight groups and competed against each other.
In the second stage, the top two teams from each group will be divided into four groups. Then, the top two teams will enter the knockout stages from the quarter-finals all the way to the finals.
In this tournament, several countries are predicted to win the 2023 FIBA World Cup. These countries have very strong national basketball teams with satisfying achievements. Here’s the list.
