MALANG – Arema FC has officially signed Fernando Valente as the new coach for the 2023/2024 Liga 1 continuation. The 64-year-old coach is the biological father of the team captain and midfielder for Persebaya Surabaya, Ze Valente.
The owner’s full name is Jose Fernando Martins Valente, throughout his coaching career he has often handled Portuguese domestic teams. The track record of the coach who was born in Porto, Portugal can also be seen on the Transfermarkt page.
It is known that the last time Valente worked in charge of Estoril U-23 was in the 2022/2023 season. During 85 days in charge of Estoril U-23, he accompanied his team in 7 matches with the results of 2 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats.
Before Estoril U-23, Valente also coached Shaktar Donetsk II in the 2021/2022 season. Not many statistical records during his time in charge of the U-19 Shaktar Donetsk team.
Fernando Valente himself began his coaching career by dealing with Freamunde in the 1992/1993 season, then Paredes in the 2001/2002 Portuguese League, AD Lousada (2003/2004). Then, he returned to Paredes from January 2009 to 30 June 2012.
