GAZA STRIP – Hamas Political Bureau Head Ismail Haniyeh asserted that Palestinians will face the siege, closure and settlements with persistence and resistance.
He stressed, “Ending the occupation is the only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”
This came in response to Israeli actions in the West Bank to counter resistance, including increasing attacks on Palestinian towns and villages and closing checkpoints.
“New blockades, new closures, liquidations, detentions and demolition of houses will not change the situation,” he stressed.
“The Israeli occupation’s persistence to continue with the expansion of its settlements in the occupied West Bank, the Judaization of holy sites and its continuous annexation efforts will be met with fierce resistance by generations of resistance,” he said.
The Hamas leader pointed out, “The political solution has failed and the Oslo Accords are dismantled and the Palestinians are betting only on armed resistance to regain their rights in historical Palestinian land.”
He added, “Israel’s security solution based on a strategy of killing and destroying Palestinians does not deter stubborn Palestinians. The only solution for the Zionists is to give up their absurd dreams and mystical policies because the Palestinians insist on returning to their homeland.”
He warned, “Broadening the circle of targeting Palestinians will widen the circle of resistance.”
