LONDON – British female amateur boxer, Francesca Hennessy will make it to the professional level by joining boxing promotion company Boxxer. The professional debut of the boxer who is usually known as Fran Hennessy will take place at York Hall, London, on September 30.
Fran Hennessy is no stranger to the world of boxing. He has a strong background in the sport of fistfighting. Yes, his father who is also a promoter, Mick Hennessy will be his manager. Fran also has an older brother named Michael who is also a professional boxer.
This 18-year-old female boxer will compete in the bantamweight division. To sharpen his skills, Fran will be handled by a coach who is also a former British and Commonwealth champion, Bradley Skeete.
“I’m more than ready, I’m ready to rock boxing. My style is very unique. I like to move and go with a groove. I’m a bit of a showgirl. You’re bound to see some fun,” Fran Hennessy told Sky Sports.
“My style is very interesting. Hands down. I like to move my feet. I don’t just do that. If I have to bite my gums and fight, I can. I can do both, but I prefer to go a little slick,” continues he.
“I’m a two-time national champion, I went to the Golden Girl tournament (in Sweden) and I won the Best Boxer out of 360 women. I also won the Women’s Winter Boxing Cup,” Fran said of her achievements at the amateur level.
Knowing boxing from an early age, Fran admits that she has idols and inspirations in boxing. She is the undisputed super middleweight women’s boxing world champion, Savannah Marshall. Fran has also been a fan of Prince Naseem Hamed and Sugar Ray Leonard since childhood.

“I saw the way my dad and Peter Fury took care of Savannah and I thought this is something I can do and reach the top and it really inspires me, seeing Savannah,” she said.
