Reasons Elon Musk Plans to Remove News Headlines on X. FOTO/ CNET
CUPERTINO – The owner of social media giant X, Elon Musk has expressed his desire to remove news headlines from the platform.
In a tweet, he asked journalists to publish directly on X.
Reportedly, Musk will soon remove news headlines from news snippets shared on X.
This change will make users who share links on X only show the image and URL.
A source said that it was Musk who wanted to go through with the changes.
The source adds that the reason behind this change is to reduce the vertical space a tweet occupies on a user’s screen.
This will allow more posts to fit into the timeline that users see on their screens.
In addition, Musk believes this will also help reduce clickbait.
“It was something that Elon wanted. They were run by advertisers, who didn’t like it, but it happened,” said the source, quoted from India Today, Tuesday (22/8/2023).
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter which is now called X in October 2022, he has been introducing changes to the platform at a rapid pace.
Be it the all-new Twitter Blue service or the ability to post long tweets and videos.
