LONDON – Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, confidently says that his team’s midfield will have more color with the presence of Declan Rice. Arteta felt optimistic after the Gunners -the nickname for Arsenal – won two wins at the start of the 2023-2024 Premier League season.
As is known, Declan Rice is a player from England who was brought in by Arsenal from West Ham United. This player has signed a contract for five seasons with the option of extending for one year.
Arteta explained that Rice is a player who has great experience and quality. His presence in the team will add to Arsenal’s strength in the competition for the Premier League title this season.
“He is an extraordinary player. He is able to control the midfield and is dominant in the game,” said Arteta as quoted from Arsenal’s official website on Tuesday (22/8/2023).
The 41-year-old added that Rice’s presence brings significant variety to Arsenal’s midfield combination, which will be a challenge for his opponents. The contribution of this player was also very visible in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the second week of the Premier League at Selhurst Park Stadium on Tuesday (22/8/2024).
“His role is very important, both in attack and defense,” he added.
Arteta also praised Declan Rice’s quick adaptation to the Arsenal squad, which is a positive note. He believes that this player will be increasingly integrated into Arsenal’s game scheme in the future.
“I believe he has performed very well,” he concluded.
