A strong explosion was felt this morning in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. This is what the sources of the news agency “Ria Novosti” say. A loud noise, similar to an explosion, was heard around 10:30 Moscow time.
The explosion was particularly felt in the northern and western parts of the city, as well as in the center, and car alarms went off in several places. About two minutes after this loud noise was heard along Dobrovolsky Street in the northern residential area of the Voroshilovsky district, two ambulances entered the area with their sirens on, immediately followed by a third.
The governor of the region, Vasily Golubev, has explained on his Telegram channel that the loud noises are related to the plane going supersonic.
“Regarding the numerous reports of loud noises that were heard in various parts of Rostov and its surroundings. The army informed about the transition of the plane to supersonic,” he wrote, asking citizens to remain calm.
