Just when it was thought that Yevgeny Prigozhin had settled in Belarus, after the failed coup d’état against Moscow and the pardon that Vladimir Putin gave him, the leader of the Wagner group has reappeared with a video from Africa.
The mercenary boss posted a video on the Wagner group’s Telegram channel, saying they are working in 50 degree Celsius temperatures in Africa to make Russia great.
“Work. The temperature is +50 degrees Celsius. Everything just the way we like it,” Putin’s ex-chef can be heard saying as he appears in military gear in the second video shot after the failed uprising.
“Soldiers are conducting reconnaissance and research activities to make Russia even bigger on every continent! And an even freer Africa. Justice and happiness for African peoples. We are carrying out the tasks assigned to us and which we have promised to carry out”, he adds.
The mercenary leader’s statement was followed by a call to African countries on Wagner’s Telegram channel, accompanied by a map of the continent with flags of all nations.
“If you need stability and security, contact us”, was the message that was written.
Thus, this appearance by Prigozhin comes shortly after his interview with the pro-Russian broadcaster Afrique Media, where the Wagner leader confirmed that he would increase the presence of contingents of his militia in Africa.
