The National Hurricane Center in the United States announced on Saturday “catastrophic and life-threatening flooding” that threatens to hit the Mexican state of ‘Baja California’, as well as the southwestern part of the United States until Monday, as a result of Hurricane ‘Hilary’.
The hurricane is moving accompanied by winds with a maximum force of up to 200 kilometers per hour.
On Saturday evening and Sunday morning, the central and western part of the ‘Baja California’ peninsula will be swept by strong winds.
Authorities have warned of the danger posed by the hurricane for the peninsula of Baja California, the areas that lie near the California-Mexico border, as well as Catalina Island in California.
Hurricane warnings are usually issued 36 hours before it hits areas at risk.
