Tyson Fury criticized Andy Ruiz Jr. for asking for a fee of USD 20 million or around Rp. 298 billion during the fight for the WBC title. Tyson Fury was scheduled to fight in the summer but has had issues choosing his opponent.
According to Fury, former world boxing champion Andy Ruiz is demanding a fee of $20 million for the fight. After Ruiz’s request, Fury’s management turned their attention to Zhang Zhilei, but the Chinese heavyweight is now under contract for a rematch with Joe Joyce.
“I’ve tried everyone. Andy Ruiz Jr has asked for 20 million, ridiculous little man, I don’t know where he got it. Who’s out there? Who’s available? Zhang, he’s a nice little fight, but Joyce wants rematch, then it’s not going to happen now,” Tyson Fury said.
Tyson Fury last stepped into the ring when he defeated Derek Chisora to defend his WBC world title last December. Because of that, Tyson Fury wants to get back into the ring but hasn’t found an opponent yet. “Then, I want to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime. I can’t wait to fight Usyk (Oleksandr Usyk), AJ (Anthony Joshua), whoever is out there, I will beat you because I am the most evil person on this earth,” he joked.
In fact, he was engaged in serious negotiations to have an undisputed fight with WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA champion, Oleksandr Usyk in April. However, their discussions fell apart when the two sides failed to reach an agreement on financial terms for the rematch.
“I haven’t fought since December through no fault of my own. I’ve tried to fight midget Usyk and he wants nothing, I’ve tried to fight AJ, he won’t smoke.”
After the victory over Derek Chisora, Tyson Fury seemed to have disappeared from the virtual world. He is not actively posting training activities and prefers vacationing with his family. “I haven’t been active on Instagram for a while, I’m taking vacations, chilling, eating and doing all sorts of other things. But I just want to tell everyone I want to beat all these guys and I’m ready to rock.”
