KUALA LUMPUR – Indonesian women’s doubles Apriyani Rahayu / Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti failed to go further in Malaysia Masters 2023. Apriyani/Fadia was stopped by the South Korean duo Jeong Na Eun/Kim Hye Jeong in the quarter-finals at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Friday (26/5/2023) afternoon WIB.
Apriyani/Fadia surrendered in a battle of three games 15-21, 21-18 and 16-21 for 1 hour 27 minutes. With this result, Apriyani/Fadia failed to advance to the semifinals of the Super 500 tournament. Meanwhile, Jeong/Kim will face sixth seeds from Malaysia Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan in the top 4.
Apriyani/Fadia fell behind at the start of the first game, but equalized at 2-2 and then 4-4. After that, the world ranked 4th pair struggled with Jeong/Kim’s attacks and fell behind 4-7, then 8-11 in the first game interval.

In the deciding game, the numbers chased again until it reached 7-7. After that, the Ginseng Country duo led 11-9 at half-time. After the break, Jeong/Kim’s domination was unstoppable so they won 17-11. Apriyani/Fadia did not move and eventually lost with a score of 16-21.
