4 Indonesian Fighters Fighting For UFC Tickets, One Of The Ojol Drivers. Photo: OnePride
JAKARTA – Four Indonesian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters will face challenges in the Road to UFC event which will be held in Shanghai, China, on May 27-28 2023. They are determined to catch up with Jeka Saragih who previously managed to get a UFC contract.
As is well known, Jeka is one of the participants in Road to UFC season one. Even though he lost at the top of the lightweight class to Anshul Jubli, Jeka managed to win a contract to fight in the UFC.
Now, it is the turn of the other four fighters who will fight to become the next Indonesian athletes who can compete in the UFC octagon. They are Ronal Siahaan, Billy Pasulatan, Windri Patilima, and Eperaim Ginting.
“Billy’s fight is very interesting to watch. He has extraordinary strength and I hope he can win,” said their coach, Marc Fiore, Friday (26/5/2023).
Not only Billy, Coach Fiore also praised other athletes who will compete in the second season of the event. One that caught his attention was Windri, who previously worked as a construction worker and an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver.
“Windri is a mysterious figure and also one of the most talented. I believe in his abilities and skills,” said Coach Fiore.
“He has a high fighting spirit and is tireless,” he added.
Two Indonesian flyweight fighters will compete on Saturday (27/5/2023). Ronal Siahaan will fight Rei Tsuruya (Japan) at 17.00 WIB, while Billy Pasulatan will fight against Ji Niushiyue (China) at 19.00 WIB.
Meanwhile, Windri Patilima will face Shin Haraguchi (Japan) in a lightweight match, and Eperaim Ginting will face Daermisi Zhawupasi (China) in a bantamweight match on Sunday (28/5/2023) at 19.00 WIB.
