EL SALVADOR – Cobresal goalkeeper, Leandro Requena stole the show in the ninth match of the 2023 Chilean Primera Division by scoring a spectacular goal from distance. This goal helped Cobresal win 3-1 over Colo-Colo at Estadio El Cobre, El Salvador, Chile on Sunday (19/3/2023).
Leandro Requena (77′) scored the third goal for The Miners -nicknamed Cobresal, after Guillermo Alfonso Pacheco Tudela (8′) and Cecilio Waterman (34′(P)) scored first. Colo-Colo could only reply one goal through Damian Nicolas Pizarro Huenuqueo (90+5′).
Leandro Requena’s goal was created after he took a long-range shot from the front of the goal. Colo-Colo goalkeeper, Brayan Cortes made a fatal mistake and made Leandro Requena easily score goals. Despite conceding a goal, Leandro Requena was voted the best player in the match.
“I can’t lie, it wasn’t a shot at goal, I wanted to serve quickly again and unfortunately Brayan Cortes played it, but luckily for us it was a goal,” said Leandro Requena quoted from La Tercera, Sunday (19/3/2023) .
Leandro Requena also gave praise to his colleagues who had appeared solid, and acknowledged that Cobresal deserved the victory. “I think the whole team is very solid. It was very strong teamwork and we deserved to win. We were very focused,” he concluded.
