BIRMINGHAM – Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto have qualified for the All England 2023 final. The Indonesian men’s doubles want to make what all badminton players dream of, namely to become champions.

Fajri -the nickname of Fajar/Rian- advanced to the top of the party after defeating the Chinese champion, He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong. Appearing at Utilita Arena, on Saturday (18/3/2023) they won 21-19 and 21-17.

This made the world number one pair reach their first final at the All England. This is an opportunity to win the Super 1000 tournament and follow in the footsteps of some of his compatriots.

The Indonesian men’s doubles are arguably quite dominant at the All England. It has been proven that since 2014, five titles have been won in the 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022 editions.

The 2023 edition is also certain to bring another title for Indonesia. Because Fajar/Rian will face Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan

The All England men’s doubles champions from Indonesia who are still active are Ahsan/Hendra, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana.

This is also the motivation of Fajar/Rian. They also want to enter the ranks of the men’s doubles who won the world’s oldest badminton tournament.

Fajar/Rian are determined to realize their dream of becoming champions at the All England 2023. Although on the other hand they also didn’t expect to reach the final because they were hobbled to win from the start.

“All players must have a dream to become the All England champion. No, I thought I could make it to the finals. But we hope to get the best results,” said Rian in a PBSI release.
