Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok was reportedly officially removed from the post of President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero).

It is said that the dismissal of Ahok was carried out directly by BUMN Minister Erick Thohir and Megawati Soekarnoputri.

This claim was spread through a video uploaded by the KANAL BERITA YouTube channel on Saturday (18/3/2023).

In his upload, the YouTube channel, which now has more than 86 thousand subscribers, wrote the following title, “AHOK OFFICIALLY FIRED FROM PERTAMINA // IMMEDIATELY LEADED BY ERIK TOHIR AND MEGAWATI ??”

Meanwhile, the thumbnail of the video that was shared also read a similar caption, “AHOK IS OFFICIALLY FIRED FROM PERTAMINA. MEGAWATI AND ERIK TOHIR LEAD IMMEDIATELY FIRED AHOK”.

So is this claim true?

Explanation

Based on an investigation by metro.Suara.com, the claim by Erick Thohir and Megawati that they officially fired Ahok from Pertamina is not true.

This is because the 8-minute 4-second upload does not describe and provide valid evidence regarding the claims that have been written in the title and thumbnail of the video.
