PARIS – Arsenal legend Thierry Henry reportedly refuses to coach the French Women’s National Team. However, he was more interested in becoming the coach of the United States National Team.
The French Football Federation (FFF) is preparing to compete in the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The event will take place in Australia and New Zealand from 20 July-20 August 2023
Meanwhile, in this event, the French Women’s National Team is looking for a new coach after Corinne Diacre was fired. FFF is also reported to have approached Thierry Henry to fill the vacant position.
Quoting from ESPN, Saturday (18/3/2023), Thierry Henry reportedly refused to become coach of the French Women’s National Team. He is more interested in managing the United States National Team.
It’s not without reason that Thierry Henry is more interested in handling the United States National Team. The reason is that this position is currently vacant, after Gregg Berhalter was not offered a contract extension after the 2022 World Cup.
Major League Soccer (MLS) is not a foreign competition for Thierry Henry, because he had a career with the New York Red Bulls. In fact, he successfully led New York Red Bull to win in 2013.
In addition, Thierry Henry had experience handling Montreal for two seasons. This made him not need too long to adapt to the competition in the United States.
