NYON – Italy re-recorded history in European competition after advancing six of its representatives in the quarter-finals in three different competitions in Europe this season. Of course, this is a proud achievement, especially if one of these clubs manages to become a champion.
Quoting from Opta, Saturday (18/3/2023), the passage of six representatives in the quarter-finals of the 2022-2023 European competition has made Italy repeat its excellent record. The reason is, in the 1998-1999 edition, there were six Italian representatives who penetrated the quarter-finals, while in 1990-1991 there were seven representatives.
Italy has three representatives in the 2022-2023 Champions League quarter-finals. They are AC Milan, Inter Milan and Napoli.
Meanwhile, in the quarter-finals of the 2022-2023 Europa League, Italy has two representatives. They are AS Roma and Juventus who managed to show a good performance in the round of 16.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina became the only representative of Italy in the quarter-finals of the European Conference League. The club nicknamed La Viola secured a place in the last eight after eliminating Sivasspor 5-1 on aggregate in the last 16.
