Indonesia Wins the 2023 All England Men’s Doubles Title After Fajar/Rian Passes to the Final

BIRMINGHAM – Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto qualified for the 2023 All England final. Indonesia’s mainstay men’s doubles eliminated the Chinese pair He Ji Ting / Zhou Hao Dong in the semifinals at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, England, Sunday (19/3/2023) early morning WIB.

Fajar/Rian needed 44 minutes to finish the He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong resistance with a score of 21-19 and 21-17. This result ensured that Indonesia won a title from the men’s doubles number. Fajar/Rian will face Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan in the final on Sunday local time.

Previously, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan advanced to the All England 2023 final after winning a fierce match against Chinese representatives, Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang 21-15, 19-21, 29-27.

Fajar/Rian appeared confident in the first game. They opened the points 1-0 and immediately stepped on the gas to lead 3-0. However, He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong appeared calm and caught up 3-3.

Chase numbers occur, 4-4, 5-5 to 9-9. However, He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong’s fast attacks produced two consecutive points to close the interval in the first game 11-9.

After the break, Fajar/Rian got up and took the lead 13-11. But He Ji Ting/Zhou Hao Dong got back up and chased 16-16, even winning 18-19. At critical points, Fajar/Rian was more focused, winning 2-0-19 and closing the first game with a score of 21-19.

In the second game, Fajar/Rian appeared more relaxed. They appeared more muscular, winning 4-2, then 5-3, up to 9-5 and closing the interval in the second game with 11-8. Fajar/Rian are more confident and winning 14-9 after the break. Then 15-9 and 16-9, 17-10 , 19-13 and 20-14, 20-16, 20-17 and closed the second game with a 21-17 win.
