CATALUNYA – Barcelona received bad news ahead of the El Clasico match against Real Madrid. Their mainstay young midfielder, Pedri, reportedly had to be absent due to a hamstring injury.

The match between Barcelona and Real Madrid will take place on Monday (20/3/2023) at 03.00 WIB at the Camp Nou Stadium. Barcelona, which currently occupies the top position of the Spanish League standings with 65 points, hopes to win at their own cage.

According to a report from ESPN on Saturday (18/3/2023), Barcelona is facing a serious problem with Pedri’s absence in the game later. Even though Barcelona are trying to get Pedri to recover from his injury, during Friday’s training session, the 20-year-old midfielder was still feeling uncomfortable with the injury.

Pedri previously suffered a hamstring injury when Barcelona drew 2-2 against Manchester United in the first leg of the 2022/2023 Europa League play-off round at Camp Nou on Friday (17/02/2023) early morning WIB. Hamstring injuries are not new to Pedri, because he previously experienced them from September 2021 to January 2022 and had to be sidelined for 102 days.

Barcelona hopes to show their best abilities in the El Clasico match without Pedri’s presence and win to widen the gap with Real Madrid who are in second place in the standings with a difference of 10 points.
