MANILA – An unemployed man from Quezon City, Philippines, became an instant billionaire after winning the lottery Php75.2 million or more than Rp.21 billion.
In addition, the father and son from Laguna also won the lottery Php11.6 million. The Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced that the lottery prizes have been claimed by the winners.
The unemployed 49-year-old man, whose identity has been withheld for security reasons, claimed the Php75.2 million jackpot for Grand Lotto 6/55 with the winning six-digit combo number 09-08-05-01-30-52 on March 1, 2023.
The man who has been playing Lotto for over 25 years believes that everyone’s lucky moment will come at the right time.
She previously worked as a part-time waitress, including being a dishwasher. But because his pay wasn’t enough, he quit his job, hoping to find another job.
He said he always believed in the lottery because he had won five figures twice. He added that he often couldn’t buy lottery tickets because he didn’t have the money, but then he never lost hope.
“I know that one lucky day will come,” he said, as quoted by Gulf News, Friday (7/3/2023).
Asked what he wanted to do with his winnings, the man said he would set up a business, buy land and help relatives.
Meanwhile, father and son from San Pablo, Laguna, also claimed their lottery prize on March 1 after winning the Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot of Php11.6 million drawn on February 27.
