JAKARTA – The coach of the U-20 Indonesian national team (Timnas), Shin Tae-yong, has summoned 29 players for training camps (TC) in Jakarta and South Korea. Interestingly, there are three potential naturalized players, namely Ivar Jenner, Rafael Struick, and Justin Hubner.

The TC in Jakarta will be held on March 20 2023. After that the Garuda Nusantara squad will only depart for South Korea.

The TC is in preparation for the U-20 Indonesia to face the 2023 U-20 World Cup which will take place from 20 May to 11 June.

“Shin Tae-yong officially announced 29 Indonesian U-20 team players to attend training camps (TC) in Jakarta and South Korea,” wrote a post on PSSI’s Instagram account @PSSI.

Also on the list is Marselino Ferdinan who is currently starting his career in Belgium with KMSK Deinze. Of course, the presence of these players can add to the strength of Indonesia U-20.

PSSI Technical Director, Indra Sjafri said the TC was in Jakarta while waiting for the completion of the administrative files for the Indonesian U-20 players. After that, he will fly to South Korea to prepare for the U-20 World Cup.

“Visas are needed. They will practice for about ten days first. The gathering will be on the 20th (March),” said Indra in Jakarta.
