BIRMINGHAM – Indonesian Women’s Doubles Apriyani Rahayu / Siti Fadia Ramadhanti failed to go further at the All England 2023. They were eliminated by the South Korean pair Baek Ha Na / Lee So Hee in the quarter-finals after fighting for 1 hour 33 minutes at the Utilita Arena, Birmingham, Friday (17/3/2023) evening WIB.

Apriyani/Fadia failed to qualify for the semifinals of the Super 1000 tournament after giving up 11-21, 21-14 and 14-21. Meanwhile, Baek/Lee progressed to the semifinals to face Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand Pullela from India.

Apriyani/Fadia performed poorly at the start of the first game by making a lot of unforced errors so they were left behind 1-6. Baek/Lee who played attacking with a fast tempo caused Apriyani/Fadia to be overwhelmed. Baek/Lee closed the first game interval with an 11-4 advantage.

After the break, Baek/Lee could not be overtaken and won 16-6. Baek/Lee got point after point without difficulty, the world’s 20th ranked pair was able to secure victory in the first game with a score of 21-11.

Apriyani/Fadia were able to bounce back in the second game, winning 6-4 to close the interval in the second game with a score of 11-7. The PBSI Pelatnas pair continued to dominate after the break and won 17-12. The second game belonged to Apriyani/Fadia with a 21-14 victory.

Apriyani/Fadia’s performance slumped in the deciding game. Their shots were in and out, so they trailed 1-6, then 4-11 at the interval. Coming from behind 7-15, they catch up to 12-15. However, after fighting through long rallies at critical points, Apriyani/Fadia lost 14-21.
