BIRMINGHAM – Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan have made it to the last 16 of the All England 2023. The Daddies will rely on experience to achieve the best results in the BWF World Tour Super 1000 tournament.
Ahsan/Hendra went through the first match by defeating fellow Indonesian men’s doubles, Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan. They won 25-23, 21-18.
After competing at Utilita Arena, Birmingham, Wednesday (15/3/2023) night, Ahsan/Hendra addressed his juniors. Pram/Yere is judged to have performed very well.
“We thank God that we were able to get through the first match. The match was quite tough because Pram/Yere also played very well,” said Ahsan.
“We remain focused even though we are far behind in the numbers, the important thing is we don’t want to give up first,” he continued.
In the first game, Pram/Yere actually led to close to 21. However, their experience allowed Ahsan/Hendra to catch up and win.
“They started playing fast right away, and we weren’t ready to anticipate it,” explained Hendra, in a PBSI release
After the interval we tried to catch up and then they made a lot of unforced errors in the final points, the easy balls were dead, the fault was there,” he continued.
In the second game, Pram/Yere also took the lead until it was close to the interval. However, Ahsan/Hendra were once again able to turn things around and steal the second game.
