This unique and surprising moment was shared by Mother Violet Quick through a video that has been watched more than 22.8 million times on TikTok.

The baby boy, named Rudy, was seen holding an IUD contraceptive in his hand when he was born. Inevitably, this certainly attracted the attention of the medical staff at the hospital. “When all the nurses came to see the baby with the IUD,” she wrote.

Quoted from Nypost, Violet Quick married her husband, John Francis, when they were both 19 years old. Because he didn’t plan to have children, Quick used an IUD contraceptive to delay pregnancy.

However, as time went on, Quick said he sensed something was wrong after not feeling well for several weeks. “I felt nauseous for about two weeks and threw up every once in a while,” says Quick.

After experiencing all of that, Quick decided to take a pregnancy test to see what was wrong. The results of the test showed that she was positively pregnant, and this made her wonder, Quick finally took another test up to six times.

“All the results were positive, then I went straight to the ER and I was declared seven weeks pregnant,” said Quick. This pregnancy is very miraculous, because the IUD has a 99% success rate in preventing pregnancy, which means that less than 1 in 100 people can get pregnant while using the device.

Although rare, ectopic pregnancies are very serious and, if left untreated, can even be fatal.

Seeing that her pregnancy was inversely proportional to the desired results, Quick warned the public to keep taking tests even when they were already using contraception. “It’s better to know in advance, because there is a high risk of having an ectopic pregnancy when you have an IUD, even if most are successful,” he says.
