Persija Memble in Away Match, Thomas Doll Confused Himself
Suara.com – Persija Jakarta head coach, Thomas Doll, admitted that he was surprised to see the mentality of his squad when they played away matches in the BRI League 1 competition this season.
“Every time we play away games, we can’t play our football as usual,” said Thomas, as published by Antara, Thursday (9/3/2023).
The German tactician did not know what caused the bad results of the “Tigers of Kemayoran” squad to the opponent’s headquarters.
What is clear, Thomas really regrets the many wasted opportunities so that Persija often loses points when playing away.

“When we are away we are always in trouble. We create lots of chances but it is difficult to score goals,” said the man who once coached German League club Borussia Dortmund.
Persija’s record when playing at home to opponents this season is not too good.
Since January 2023, Persija has only earned four points from their six away games.
Most recently, Wednesday (8/3), Persija lost 1-3 to Borneo FC. This result also made it difficult for Andritany Ardhiyasa and his friends to compete for the title.
Persija is currently in third place in the Indonesian League 1 standings with a collection of 51 points from 27 matches.

They are 14 points behind leaders PSM who have completed 29 matches. The second position is occupied by Persib who have 52 points from 27 matches.
The defeat to Borneo FC made Thomas Doll disappointed and hoped that the same thing would not happen again. Moreover, Persija will return to visit the opponent’s headquarters, namely Persik, in the next match, Sunday (12/3).
“It’s a shame we came all the way here but came back empty-handed. We couldn’t get even one point,” said Thomas.
