MALANG – Arema FC appointed Joko Susilo as coach for the remainder of the 2022/2023 League 1 competition. The man who is familiarly called Getuk will start leading Singo Edan against Dewa United, Thursday (9/3/2023).

This appointment also completes Arema FC’s coaching formation. After Javier Roca’s resignation, club management chose I Putu Gede as caretaker.

“Officially the management of Arema FC has recalled Coach Getuk to return to lead the team,” explained General Manager ad Interim Arema FC, Muhammad Yusrinal Fitriandi.

Joko is no stranger to Arema FC. He has served for quite a long time as an assistant coach and also the head coach in the 2018 League 1.

Yusrinal explained that Joko was chosen as the tactician to restore the team’s achievements. The reason is, Arema FC has swallowed two consecutive defeats.

He considered Joko’s touch much needed by Arema FC. Because, apart from being one of the trainers who have an AFC Pro license, Joko has qualified experience.

“We all know Coach Joko Susilo’s journey, he returned to Arema with mature experience,” explained Yusrinal.

“This is also a challenge in itself,” continued the man who is familiarly called Inal, on the official Arema FC website.
