JAKARTA – Russia is still continuing its war with Ukraine which has touched more than a year since the invasion on February 24, 2022.

In this case, it seems that Vladimir Putin has no intention of withdrawing his troops immediately. Some time ago, the boss of the Wagner Group mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin revealed one of the reasons, namely because Kiev continues to try to reclaim lands controlled before 2014.

As is well known, in its conflict with Ukraine, Russia did not only use its own army. In this case, the Wagner Group also joined on behalf of Moscow with the status of mercenaries.

Quoting the DailyStar page, Wednesday (8/3/2023), the Wagner Group is known as a group of mercenaries who have a classy reputation. They are also often described as ‘Putin’s Private Army’.

For your information, the Wagner Group was founded in 2014 by Yevgeny Prigozhin. He is someone who has close connections with Vladimir Putin.

Initially, this group was claimed to consist of trained elite war veterans. However, after the urgent need due to the invasion, Wagner began to expand his reach by recruiting ex-convicts to willing foreigners.

With their status as mercenaries, Wagner members are also said to have relatively large wages. So, how much is their salary from this job?

Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Wagner paid members in the range of $3,000 to $5,000. However, after the need increased, the tariff was reported to have also experienced a large increase.
