56-year-old Ismail Gürler, one of the residents of the building, whose car was crushed by the earthquake, tearfully tells what happened on the evening of February 6. “A very loud noise was heard, we immediately started running with the children. Then we heard a second noise and it seemed as if the palace was spinning. We tried to go towards the door but we could not open it as it was blocked by the rubble. Then we went out on the balcony. We tied the blankets and went down hanging from the second floor. We lost our house, car, wealth, but we are alive. We had bought the house 4 months ago, everything there was new”.
