Shin Tae-yong Has Been Trying Hard, Concocting the U-20 Indonesian National Team in Limitations

Suara.com – Shin Tae-yong revealed that he had tried hard to concoct the composition of the U-20 Indonesian National Team for the U-20 Asian Cup. However, Shin Tae-yong failed to bring the Garuda Muda squad through to the group phase.

Shin Tae-yong said there were many limitations to the composition of the Indonesian National Team. But it was overcome quickly by Shin Tae-yong.

“Tactically, I try to concoct a team with the existing squad as quickly as possible, regardless of all the problems that exist,” said Shin Tae-yong as quoted from PSSI’s statement, Wednesday (8/3/2023).

The U-20 Indonesian national team was eliminated from the U-20 Asian Cup after a 0-0 draw with host Uzbekistan, in the final Group A match which was played at the Istiqlol Stadium, Fergana, Tuesday.

The result left Indonesia only in third place in the final Group A standings with four points.

Iraq, which drew 1-1 with Syria in the last match, also collected four points, but Iraq is superior on goal difference over Indonesia.

Host Uzbekistan qualified for the quarter-finals as Group A winners with seven points.

Meanwhile, Syria occupies the caretaker position with one point.

In the early phase of the match, Uzbekistan dominated possession and threatened Garuda Muda’s defense several times.
