Islam Makhachev Can’t Wait To Destroy Beneil Dariush

JAKARTA – A fighter from Russia, Islam Makhachev, admits that he can’t wait to face Beneil Dariush. According to him, a duel with Beneil Dariush will be a big fight for fans to watch.

Islam Makhachev successfully defended his lightweight title after defeating Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284 which took place at the RAC Arena, Perth, Australia, Sunday (12/2/2023). He won by unanimous decision after getting a final score of 48-47, 48-47, 49-47.

After defeating Alexander Volkanovski, Islam Makhachev admitted that he had found his next opponent. He admitted that he wanted to face Beneil Dariush to defend his title.

Islam Makhachev also hopes that Beneil Dariush can beat Carles Oliveira at UFC 288. According to him, facing Beneil Dariush will be the big fight that fans have been waiting for.

“I hope Beniel (Dariush) beats (Charles) Oliveira. We will make a good fight because this guy is tough because he has good skills and it will be a big fight for the fans,” said Islam Makhachev.

Meanwhile, Islam Makhachev admitted that he had prepared himself for a long time to face Beniel Darius. He believes that the victory over Charles Oliveira will make Beniel Darius the right opponent to defend his title.

“I prepared myself for this fight several years ago. He defeated a good opponent (Mateusz Gamrot) in his last fight. That’s why I think if he beats Charles he will deserve it.”

Beniel Darius will face Charles Oliveira at UFC 288 which will take place at the Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey, United States of America on May 6, 2023. Do Bronx -nicknamed Beniel Darius- has a mission to win back his championship belt.
