JAKARTA – The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali ensured that the government fully supports the participation of the U-20 Israel National Team in the 2023 U-20 World Cup. According to him, Indonesia must be a good host.
Menpora Zainudin Amali ensured that Indonesia would host anyone, including the U-20 Israel National Team and their supporters who would attend. So Indonesia is ready to support anyone including the U-20 Israel National Team to appear in the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
Menpora Zainudin Amali also said that there were already related parties to resolve this matter. “We must be good hosts and we must receive guests who come from various countries, both the National Team and their supporters,” said Menpora Amali at Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (8/3/2023).
“The government fully supports the implementation of this activity. And there are sections assigned to complete it,” he added.
Currently, the Menpora is communicating this matter with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. He also ensured that the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs would later prepare the steps to be taken.
“And now it has been communicated with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. PSSI is only preparing the national team and technical matches. When the time comes, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security will definitely convey the steps,” he concluded.
For your information, Israel’s U-20 participation in the 2023 U-20 World Cup has caused controversy. Some of them opposed his presence including BDS Indonesia, MER-C, Aqsa Working Group (AWG), Indonesian Committee for World Islamic Solidarity (KISDI) and others.
