OKLAHOMA CITY – A total of eight further matches of the 2022/2023 NBA took place today, Wednesday (8/3/2023). One of the highlights was the fall of the defending champion, the Golden State Warriors.

Visiting the Paycom Center, the Warriors lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Through a fairly fierce match, they lost with a score of 128-137.

The team made by Steve Kerr actually didn’t look bad, but the Thunder did play more brilliantly. The home team also led quite far 40-30 at the end of the first quarter.

The Warriors cut their lead to 64-68 in the second quarter. However, the home team pulled away again with a 105-99 advantage before finally sealing their victory at the end of the match with a score of 137-128.

Stephen Curry, who was in his second match after making a comeback from injury, also played amazingly for the Warriors by contributing 40 points, two assists and four rebounds. However, that was not enough to provide positive results for his team.

Meanwhile, on the Thunder side, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander became a star. The 24-year-old player with a 198 cm postus recorded 33 points, six assists and three rebounds. Josh Giddey was no less flashy by recording a triple-double thanks to his 17 points, 17 assists and 11 rebounds.

With these results, Klay Thompson and colleagues swallowed two consecutive defeats after being bullied by the Los Angeles Lakers with a score of 113-105. As a result, they were stuck in sixth place in the western region standings with a 34-32 record. Meanwhile, the Thunder are still five places below them with a 31-34 record.

In other games, the Milwaukee Bucks managed to establish themselves at the top of the standings while the eastern region. The results were obtained after they beat the Orlando Magic with a score of 134-23 at the Amway Center.

Appearing without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez became the top scorer in the victory for Mike Budenholzer’s team in this match with 26 points, one assist and six rebounds. Then, Khris Middleton also played nicely by contributing a double-double thanks to his contribution of 24 points, 11 assists and four rebounds and Jevon Carter also recorded 24 points, five assists and two rebounds.
