“We will not retreat from Bakhmut”, Zelensky’s message to the army: Find forces to defend the city
Ukraine is vowing not to relinquish its defense of the eastern city of Bakhmut, which is under siege by Russian forces looking to secure their first major victory in more than six months. Kiev troops have reinforced positions west of the city in what appeared to be preparations for a possible withdrawal, but President Zelenskiy dismissed the possibility and asked the army to find forces to protect Bakhmut.
