JAKARTA – Samsung claims that the Galaxy S23 series has pro-grade camera features. Not only the S23 Ultra, but also the Galaxy S23 and S23+ variants. What does it do?

Unlike the S23 Ultra which has 4 cameras with 200 MP, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus are each equipped with 3 rear cameras.

The three cameras include 50 MP (f/1.8), 12 MP (f/2.2, ultrawide), and 10 MP (f/2.4, telephoto). The front camera is the same, which has a resolution of 12 MP (f/2.2).

Samsung claims, even though they don’t have a 200 MP camera, the Samsung Galaxy S23 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus also carry pro-grade level cameras.
So, here are the pro-grade camera features on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+:

1. Dual Pixel
The Galaxy S23 and S23+ are said to have pro-grade camera features, for what?
MX Product Marketing Manager for Samsung Electronics Indonesia Verry Octavianus said the Dual Pixel feature makes all the pixels in the image sensor on the camera have two functions at once. Namely autofocus and ‘absorption’ of color.

“So, the camera is able to perform the autofocus function more quickly and accurately. However, it still maintains the quality of the colors and details in the photos,” said Verry. The impact, according to Verry, was when recording a Portrait photo. “The results are sharper,”.

Dual pixels are claimed to be able to display more colors, focus more accurately, and maintain detail.

2. AI Stereo Depth
The use of Snapdragon Gen 2 for Galaxy has an impact on the quality of AI processing in the camera. Which also influences the results of the photo. According to Verry, the results of optimizing the image sensor and AI processing make the bokeh in Portrait photos smoother. “Not only his face, but also his hair is also blurry,” said Verry.

AI Stereo Depth Map is able to help the camera map out which elements should appear more in focus and which elements should be blurred. In fact, the level of blur (bokeh) for photos can be set like Studio, High-key and Low-key Mono, and Backdrop.

3. Super HDR

The super HDR feature is on the 12 MP S23 5G and S23+ 5G front cameras. Use it to make selfies sharper. According to photographer Nicoline Patricia Malina, Super HDR makes it easy to create more detailed and aesthetic fashion content. “Especially for things that need high detail, such as accessories,” he said.
