Alireza Faghani has been entrusted by FIFA officiating at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Long before that, Faghani had been a fair interpreter in the Persija vs Persib Bandung match in League 1.
For six matches in the 2017 League 1, Alireza Faghani was considered a firm figure. He issued 17 yellow cards and 1 red card during the lead.

The 44-year-old referee is known to be full of controversy when leading the match. The reason is, he is very easy to remove a yellow card from his pocket.

At the 2022 World Cup, he was one of the referees from 36 referees involved from 31 different countries. This call indicates that FIFA does not doubt the quality of Alireza Faghani.
The man who was born on March 21, 1978 has also experienced the atmosphere of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. In addition, he has also overseen the 2014 AFC Champions League final, 2015 AFC Asian Cup, 2015 Club World Cup and 2016 Olympics.
Actually, he started taking part in the World Cup in the 2014 edition in Brazil. However, at that time he was still the fourth referee in the event.
Alireza’s various achievements have marked him as one of the best referees in Asia. Although, his career did not go smoothly because there were several controversies in making decisions.
