Representing Indonesia, Puan expressed her condolences to the British people for the death of Queen Elizabeth II. On the same occasion, representing England, Sir Lindsay expressed his condolences for the Kanjuruhan Football Tragedy.
“On this occasion, on behalf of the Indonesian people, I would like to express my deepest condolences for the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022. I would also like to congratulate King Charles III who has been officially proclaimed the new king of England, succeeding Queen Elizabeth II,” he told Sir Lindsay in a press release.

The politician from the PDI-Struggle faction congratulated Elizabeth Truss on the election of the new British Prime Minister (PM). can bring concrete changes for both countries for the better.
“I believe, this is the right moment for our two countries to intensify partnerships to become concrete in the future,” he said. Through this partnership, Puan emphasized that Indonesia and the UK will be more resilient in facing complex challenges.
These include rising energy costs, soaring inflation, food security issues, geopolitical dynamics including the conflict in Ukraine, to post-Covid-19 recovery.
“Therefore, I expect both parties to continue to give encouragement to the implementation of the Partnership Roadmap. Through this meeting, I hope we can have further discussions regarding matters of mutual concern,” said Puan.
