But according to Garcia, the fight almost started early after he faced off with Davis one night. He said: ”What are you funny, guys? I actually saw Tank in the club. He’s a ‘tough guy’. He’s a tough guy.”
“He was so humble in his hoodie. I went to his desk with me and this guy, and we said, ‘Yo, are we going to make this fight happen?’ I guess he was offended by that, it all worked out. I was like, ‘Yo, what are you talking about, man? Isn’t there no respect here?’ He replied, ‘No, no respect here.’ I said, ‘Oh, like that. OK, like that? OK’.”
“Then he grabbed my chain but I wasn’t worried about that. There are so many security guards there. I knew he wouldn’t take my chain or do anything, really. He just wanted to look tough. So I said, ‘Wow, like that, huh?”
”Then he replied again, ‘Yes, like that.’ Then he let go. He had to let go. Then I said something to him. He knows what I’m saying. I will not repeat it directly. You know in the fight, that’s where it really happens.”

Davis responded to Garcia’s side of the story in a now-deleted tweet claiming boxing mogul Al Haymon interfered. She posted: ”Al told me to let it be because he went crying to his lawyer. Al is a little scared because they will withdraw from the fight.”
