TANTRUM – Often we find our prayers come true or our wishes come true. Whatever it is, we are encouraged to give thanks and praise to Allah for granted requests or realized wishes.
Taken from NU Online, Thursday, September 29, 2022, Imam Al-Ghazali quoted a prayer (tahmid) that should be read when the request has been granted. (Imam Al-Ghazali, Ihya Ulumiddin, [Beirut, Darul Fikr: 2018 M/1439-1440 H]vol. I, page 409).
Alhamdulillhil ladz bi ‘izzatih wa jallih tatimmus shlihtu.
Meaning: “Praise be to Allah, by whose glory and greatness the goodness is made perfect.”

Sayyid Muhammad Az-Zabidi in Kitab Ithafus Sadatil Muttaqin (Syarah Ihya Ulumiddin) says, this hadith was narrated by Al-Hakim from Sayyidatina Aisyah ra and Ibnu Majah. (Az-Zabidi, Ithaf, [Beirut, Muassasatut Tarikh Al-Arabi: 1994 M/1414 H]juz V, page 105).
This prayer, said Az-Zabidi, is a praise to God when a person’s wish is fulfilled, he recovers from an illness, arrives at his destination safely, or various other wishes. God bless you.
