Quartararo again failed to get full points in the continuation MotoGP 2022 . The Monster Energy Yamaha racer has gone through six consecutive series without a win.
After finishing eighth at the Japanese GP last weekend, Quartararo will try to get good results at the Chang International Circuit, Sunday (2/10/2022).
Moreover, he is now in danger of leaving the top of the 2022 MotoGP standings because he is only 18 points ahead of Francesco Bagnaia. This could undermine his ambition to defend the title.
Quartararo feels the performance of the YZR-M1 is improving. He considered the results achieved in Japan could be better than finishing eighth.
“Winning the lead in the championship at Motegi is positive. However, we have to work hard this weekend because our potential is better than 8th position,” said Quartararo.
That’s why Quartararo will try to win again in order to keep ahead of Bagnaia. The luck of the Thai GP is expected to facilitate its mission.
“I’m happy to race at the Buriram circuit because it’s a good track for Yamaha and also for me, the last time we rode here was in 2019 and I finished second,” he explained.
