Denmark Open 2022 will take place from 18-23 October 2022 at Jyske Bank Arena, Odense, Denmark. Indonesian badminton players now know who they will face in the first match.
What is quite highlighted is Indonesia’s number one men’s singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. He was immediately confronted by India’s number one player, Lakshya Sen. This is a repeat of the 2022 Thomas Cup final.
Occupying the bottom pool, Ginting may be in a challenging path. Because, he could meet the second seed of this tournament, namely Kento Momota in the quarter-finals.
If Ginting can win against Lakshya Sen and Momota, he has the potential to make it to the final and will face his arch-enemy Viktor Axelsen. Denmark’s number one badminton player is in the top pool.
But before that, it was possible that Axelsen would face stiff resistance from other Indonesian representatives. In the upper pool, there are also the names of Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo and Jonatan Christie.
In the women’s singles, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who was the only representative in the top pool. He immediately faced the eighth seed from China He Bing Jao.
Against Gregoria it wouldn’t get any easier if he stayed on. Because, he has the potential to meet the first seed Akane Yamaguchi if they both qualify for the quarter-finals.
There are five Indonesian pairs in the men’s doubles. Marcus Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya, Leo Rolly Carnado/Daniel Martin. Meanwhile, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana occupy the bottom pool.
