Metro, Suara.com- Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission X, Andreas Hugo Pareira, emphasized that the revision of the Law (UU) on Tourism would make it easier for foreign tourists to come to Indonesia so they don’t have to queue for long at airport immigration to make a Visa on Arrival (VoA).
He received information from the Indonesian Travel Association (ASITA) that what is currently happening in Bali, foreign tourists have to queue up to 3.5 hours for the VoA process.
“Well, this is something we can’t imagine if tourists who have experienced many hours of flight, from Australia, Europe, and so on, but they have to queue another 3.75 hours for Visa on Arrival matters at airport immigration,” said Andreas on the sidelines. – on the sidelines of the Specific Working Visit of the Working Committee Team (Panja) on the Bill on Tourism in Bangli Regency, Bali, Friday (23/9/2022).
The PDI-Perjuangan politician also emphasized the policy of facilitating visas in line with what was conveyed by President Joko Widodo some time ago.

“So, the issue of immigration related to tourism needs special attention so that it doesn’t become an obstacle for tourism which is being promoted for our economic recovery,” he explained.
Some time ago, President Joko Widodo also highlighted the performance of the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights because it still uses the ‘old style’ in serving the community. The reason is that President Jokowi received complaints from investors regarding the difficulty of obtaining visas at immigration.
