Fachruddin Aryanto who was born in Klaten, February 19, 1989, is the oldest player called by Shin Tae-yong to strengthen the Indonesian national team ahead of this weekend’s FIFA Matchday. Other players vary in age between 19-25 years.

For example, tall defender Elkan Baggott is only 19 years old – the same age as Muhammad Ferrari, who strengthens the Indonesian U-20 national team. In fact, there are also younger players, namely Marselino Ferdinand, who is still 18 years old, who was also called up to the senior team.
Although the age gap is quite far, Fachruddin Aryanto admits that there is no communication problem with the young players. According to him, in the Indonesian national team there is no seniority – in fact the older players protect the younger players.
“Maybe it’s not just me, most of the other senior players are always welcome (open) to junior players,” said Fachruddin Aryanto when met in Bandung, Friday (23/9/2022).
Like when he was with Ferrari and Marselino Ferdinand, said Fachruddin Aryanto, he often joked and chatted after practice. This is as he did when he was with players his age.
“I often chat or joke with Ferrari or Marselino Ferdinand after training. Especially with Ferrari, because they are both defenders, so they often talk about positions and other things,” he said.
This intimacy is deliberately built so that there is no distance between junior and senior players. All players on a team must be united, no matter if they are juniors or seniors.
To note, as many as 23 players who were called by Shin Tae Yong to compete against Curacao, Fachruddin Aryanto’s name was the only player over 30 years old.
The majority of the players called Shin Tae Yong are under the age of 30. Even 7 of them are still under 20 years old, the rest are under 25 years old.
