According to reports Autosport, Thursday (22/9/2022), a fire appeared when one of the Moto2 teams, Marc VDS, was preparing the motorbike. One of the team members started the engine, then the fire burned part of the building.

Concerns arise because the garage of the Moto 2 Marc VDS racing team is between the garages of the Suzuki Ecstar and Aprilia Racing MotoGP teams. One of Suzuki Ecstar’s crew even helped put out the fire before it spread to other areas.
With the help of the fire brigade, the fire was contained without any casualties. However, some materials belonging to the Moto 2 Marc VDS racing team were engulfed in flames.
“All team members are safe and sound, apart from the fire in our garage. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially those on the site and helping to control the situation,” reads Marc VDS’ official statement, Thursday (22/9/2022).
After that, not only the Marc VDS team also immediately rebuilt the garage. They were also assisted by several members of the Suzuki crew, who were right in the garage next door.
The first MotoGP free practice session at the Motegi Circuit will take place on Friday (23/9/2022). While the race is scheduled for Sunday (25/9/2022).
