Bastianini actually has important capital to face the 16th series MotoGP 2022 it. He could have won the previous race, the Aragon MotoGP.
The Italian racer admitted that he was happy to have won his fourth victory this season. “I’m happy with the result last weekend in Aragon,” he said.
“It was one of the best weekends I’ve ever lived in my life. I was very fast since Friday and achieved important results,” continued Bastianini, on the official MotoGP website.
However, Bastianini has a problem at the Motegi Circuit. He had never raced on that track on a MotoGP bike. He last rode there on a Moto2 bike in 2019 when he finished 7th.
That’s why Bastianini had to adjust again. He needs to learn from other riders who are more experienced at the Motegi Circuit, such as Marc Marquez or the host rider, Takaaki Nakagami.
“Now we face Motegi, which is a beautiful track and requires a lot of hard braking. I like it, but it will be difficult, because I have never ridden a MotoGP bike on this track,” he said.

This situation makes the first free practice session (FP1) very important for Bastianini. He must quickly find the best suit and compete in the qualifying sessions in order to achieve the best results.
“I have to use FP1 to learn from other riders who have experience here, like Marc and Taka. It is very important to be able to compete in the qualifiers, as usually happens,” concluded Bastianini.
