Indonesia Lets Traffic Safely Becomes Astra’s 65th Anniversary Theme for the Kalimantan Region
In line with efforts to realize Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are in line with the four pillars of Astra’s social contribution, since 2014 Astra has initiated the program Indonesia Let’s Traffic Safe (IAABL) with the aim of campaigning for the orderly and safe use of vehicles. In order to reduce the incidence of traffic accidents.
Not only providing campaigns for vehicle users, the IAABL program also invites road users to cultivate a safe traffic culture.
Through the IAABL Festival program which is held every year, Astra hopes that all levels of society can participate in being the pioneers of driving safety.
IAABL Festival with the theme “Collaboration for Safety & Sustainability Driving” this year it was held at the University of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. As well as being the opening part of the Astra Kalimantan Region 65th Anniversary celebration which will be held online on 22-24 September 2022.

The event was attended by the Chancellor of the University of Balikpapan M. Isradi Zainal, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Balikpapan University Foundation Rendi Susiswo Ismail, Head of the Transportation Service (Kadishub) of the Balikpapan City Government Elvin Junaidi, Head of BPKB Sub-Directorate of Ditlantas Polda East Kalimantan Police Commissioner Donny Dwija Romansyah, Chief of Corporate Affairs Astra, Riza Deliansyah, and Chairman of the Astra Group Coordinator for the Balikpapan Region, Arya Fitriadi.
On that occasion, the Chancellor of the University of Balikpapan M. Isradi Zainal and the Chairperson of the Coordinator of the Astra Group for the Balikpapan Region Arya Fitriadi signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) between the Astra Group of East Kalimantan and the University of Balikpapan. “We wish Astra a happy 65th birthday. Let’s create security, order and safety in road traffic,” said Kombes Pol Sony Irawan, Dirlantas Polda Kaltim.
“Transportation safety is one of the courses at the University of Balikpapan, so this is expected to increase synergy and good cooperation for both parties in realizing a traffic-safe Indonesia,” explained the East Kalimantan Police Traffic Director.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of the University of Balikpapan, M. Isradi Zainal, welcomed the implementation of the IAABL program by Astra. This program is expected to be able to raise awareness of driving safety among students.
“As of August 2022, all business lines of the Astra Group have implemented the IAABL program, so that cumulatively it has fostered 9,795 Riding Safety Pioneers and educated 171,886 people,” explained Riza Deliansyah, Chief of Corporate Affairs.
The series of Festival Indonesia Let’s Be Safe in Traffic 2022 has been held since September 2, 2022.
Starting with the inauguration of the 5th Safety Riding Lab in Indonesia with Astra Motor and the Astra Honda Motor Foundation located at SMAN Bali Mandara Buleleng, Bali Province, completing the other four Safety Riding Labs in Binjai, Bekasi, Banten, and Malang.
And for Kalimantan itself, training was provided to the pioneering ambassadors of driving safety in this region, which involved more than 650 pioneers, as well as 65 activities of the National Driving Safety Month series which were attended by more than 6,500 people throughout the year.
Through the IAABL, the Astra Group continues to strive to increase the number of safety pioneers and targets to add 500 new safety pioneers this year.
